Going Deeper with the Word – The Greatest Lie of All: “I Have Time”

When we are walking in the ways of the world, how does it affect God’s blessing? What do we stand to lose when we put off turning away from the things we know do not honor God? 🤔 Let's discuss.

Welcome to “Going Deeper with the Word.” In this segment, we welcome people of all backgrounds, religious or not, to review with me the Word of God.  The Word of God provides guidance, direction, and instructions for living our lives and walking with God.

Today, I will share verses from the Amplified Bible. Let’s review examples of God’s Word that can lead and guide our steps and back up the principles we learned in today’s message.

In today’s segment, I am going to go deeper specifically on the breadth of God’s blessings. These blessings can be missed if we intentionally put off a relationship with God.

Here is our first verse, which is focused on spiritual blessings:

Blessed and worthy of praise be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms in Christ,

– Ephesians 1:3 AMP

This verse sums up a variety of blessings God has for His children in Jesus Christ, including:

  • Being seen as holy and blameless
  • Forgiveness from our past, present, and future sins
  • His amazing grace to us through Jesus Christ
  • Access to His wisdom and knowledge through the Word

Let’s have a look at another verse, this one focused on material and financial blessing.

wisdom and knowledge have been granted you. I will also give you riches, possessions, and honor, such as none of the kings who were before you has possessed nor will those who will come after you.

– 2 Chronicles 1:12 AMP

In this verse, we see God’s promise of tangible, material wealth, unlike anything we may expect or anticipate. God knows what our hearts desire and He can and will reward the faithful in ways that supply them with a level of abundance that can play a part in adding joy to our lives. In particular, God will reward us with a level of abundance that will contribute to our joy, but also not be more than we can handle. We will not be blessed with a level of reward that would tempt us to turn away from God.In this verse, we see God’s promise of tangible, material wealth, unlike anything we may expect or anticipate. Let’s look at one last verse focused on undeserved blessings.

But God clearly shows and proves His own love for us, by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:8 AMP

In this verse, we are reminded of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross.  Christ died for our sins, including the sins of those who killed Him. With His blood, Christ has paid for every sin we ever did and ever will do.  As God’s children, we do not deserve this but have been granted it due to God’s boundless love for us.
