Going Deeper With the Word – Watch for Signs of God

When we put our trust and faith in God, how can we see Him working in our life? 🤔 Let's discuss.

Welcome to “Going Deeper with the Word.” In this segment, we welcome people of all backgrounds, religious or not, to review the Word of God. The Word of God provides guidance, direction, and instructions for living our lives and walking with God.

Today, we examine how God’s Word provides clear guidance and direction about watching for signs of God.

Let’s review examples of God’s Word that can lead and guide our steps and back up the principles we learned in today’s message. I will be reading scripture today from the Amplified Bible.

If you are watching this message online, we invite you to share your comments as we review each verse.

Here is our first verse.

“Listen carefully, I am about to do a new thing,

Now it will spring forth;

Will you not be aware of it?

I will even put a road in the wilderness,

Rivers in the desert.

Isaiah 43:19

In this verse, God speaks of an example of the absolute and complete measure of his provision. Using analogies that we can understand the complexity and difficulty, He explains how simply he can provide for even the most complex and difficult of circumstances.

Here is a question for you. Do you have a very complex and even convoluted challenge in your life right now?. Does it seem that it is too complicated for you to resolve? Do you believe God can resolve it? Will you ask Him today?

Let’s have a look at another verse.

14 This is the [remarkable degree of] confidence which we [as believers are entitled to] have before Him: that [a]if we ask anything according to His will, [that is, consistent with His plan and purpose] He hears us. 15 And if we know [for a fact, as indeed we do] that He hears and listens to us in whatever we ask, we [also] know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that we have [granted to us] the requests which we have asked from Him.

1 John 5:14-15

This scripture outlines to us clearly that when we ask anything of God, so long as it is His will, we can know that we shall receive it. God hears every word of every request we make of Him and it is in our best interest to seek His will for these requests, for it is God and only God that is aware of all of the factors about our situation.

I have a question for you. Is there something in your life that you want to ask God but you are unsure if it is best for you? Do you trust God’s will concerning your request? Would you trust God’s answer of ‘no’ to a request He knows is not best for you?

Let’s look at one last verse.

31 When Israel saw the great power which the Lord had used against the Egyptians, they feared the Lord [with reverence and awe-filled respect], and they believed in the Lord, and in His servant Moses.

Exodus 14:31

In this verse, we see a reference to how God influenced the environment and circumstances of the Egyptians, causing fear in their hearts. In today’s message, we explored the idea that while we have free will, God can and will orchestrate events and circumstances in such a way that someone has the opportunity to have a more informed decision or form a more informed posture about a matter of the heart.

Question: Has God ever got your attention in such a way that you felt reverent fear and respect towards Him?

I hope you have enjoyed today’s message as we explored ways God will give us signs of His influence and involvement in our lives. Keep in mind, we should not go about our lives expecting signs from God at every turn.  Instead, we should focus on growing and strengthening our faith in Him. True faith and trust in God is knowing that once we have asked God to intervene in a situation, He will intervene in a time and fashion that He knows will be best for all involved. We may see evidence of His actions or we may not, but let us place our trust in God knowing that loves us more than we can possibly imagine, and He knows the best outcomes for every situation brought before Him.
