Going Deeper with the Word – In the Face of Uncertainty

How do we know if God is with us? Is faith alone enough when we are in fear or all alone? How can we know if God is in the room? 🤔Let’s discuss.

Welcome to “Going Deeper with the Word.” In this segment, we welcome people of all backgrounds, religious or not, to review with me the Word of God.  The Word of God provides guidance, direction, and instructions for living our lives and walking with God.

Let’s review examples of God’s Word that can lead and guide our steps and back up the principles we learned in today’s message.

Here is our first verse.

“Things which the eye has not seen and the ear has not heard, And which have not entered the heart of man, All that God has prepared for those who love Him [who hold Him in affectionate reverence, who obey Him, and who gratefully recognize the benefits that He has bestowed].”

1 Corinthians 2:9

This is by far one of my favorite verses.  It reminds us that God is orchestrating things in our lives that are unknown to us.  Specifically, things we have not seen or heard or have even entered our hearts.  The contextual note provided in the Amplified Bible explains that God is willing to prepare these things for those who hold God in reverence and seek to be obedient to Him.

Let’s have a look at another verse.

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be terrified or dismayed (intimidated), for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Joshua 1:9

This verse has been very popular in our messages because it is so important to remember.  In the face of uncertainty, we can remember that God is with us wherever we go.  At home, at work, and at school, God is with us. God is with us when we are in the comfort of home and with us when we are in motion from point A to point B.  In the face of uncertainty, let us be reassured by God’s presence in our lives at each and every step and with each and every breath.

Let’s look at one more verse.

“The Lord will accomplish that which concerns me; your [unwavering] lovingkindness, O Lord, endures forever— do not abandon the works of Your own hands.”

Psalms 138:8

This verse, a psalm of King David, gets to the heart of our message today, that God will address the things that concern us, and that God’s love endures forever.  Therefore, in times of uncertainty, we can know and trust that God will address our concerns. What is important to remember here is that God knows best.

Something that we may find a concern may very well be an opportunity for wisdom from God.  The key is to know and trust that God knows what is best for us at all times.
